ODC FOCUS: Aposhe; Na him dey reign?

by Temmyblizzscript

Aso-ebi has always been an integral part of Nigerian culture, although it started in the southwest, but it is now widely accepted in the country at large.  Aso-ebi , translated in English as an outfit won by a particular group of people, has gained so much importance that there is hardly any ceremony where  aso-ebi is not  involved .This development has led to an uproar  in the Nigerian fashion world ,as many fabrics are being produced by different textile companies in order to meet up with the demands of the ceremonial uniforms.

Earlier this year, velvet started trending. Remember that song 'aposhe na him dey reign, ebaino! Titi don buy her own' The one- time called ‘aposhe’ is back on the scene, and it is not just back, but better. It has come in different colors and attractive patterns. Its arrival in a modified manner has made this fashion tradition more head turning than it has been.

The stunning fabric, which is known for its royalty, has a texture that dashes glamour on the wearer It is often mixed with other African fabrics like ankara ,lace, adire and so on. This mixture of fabrics is more beautiful when done with an analogous color shade. An example is a red velvet sown into a skirt with a white lace blouse to match, or rather a red velvet wrapper instead of a skirt (as seen above).

Velvet has proven to be a fabric that can be easily manipulated and one whose use cannot be exhausted; be it dress, blouse, leggings or even blazers.

So if your girlfriend says the ODC for her owambe is velvet rejoice and buy it because aposhe still dey reign.
